How many times have you started a diet only to quit after a few days simply because the choice of foods you can eat are abysmal? Well, there are many fat burning foods out there that won’t limit what you can eat and can keep you working on a fresh menu each and every day. The only work that needs to be done is simply finding the right combination that will work for you.

Getting the body to burn fat requires (obviously) fat burning foods. Simply put, these foods have to be able to help you shed the weight by continuously engaging your metabolism to keep burning calories. These foods can be broken down in a few categories which everyone is probably familiar with: good fat, good carbohydrates, and good protein.

Good fat is found in fat burning foods that are healthy in nature. Fish such as salmon, scallops, and sardines are particularly helpful in that respect. Halibut is great as well, but as a caution with all fish, beware of the smell that can waft throughout the household. You can also take a fish oil supplement in the event you do not wish to consume the fish on the whole.

A variety of nuts can be another source of good fat. Those include cashews, walnuts, peanuts, as well as almonds. Important to note though, avoid those nuts that are covered in salt, smoked, or perhaps covered in chocolate. These coatings really defeat the purpose of why you are trying to lose weight.

Carbohydrates cannot be left out of the equation when considering fat burning foods. Healthy carbs such as brown rice, any type of 100% whole wheat bread products, oatmeal, and many different assortments of beans will help provide you with the carbohydrates you need that are healthy for you as well as being a fat-burning food. Also, be wary of what you put on these fat burning foods otherwise they will end up as just fat foods and the burning will be out the door.

Fruits and Vegetables are another obvious choice to include on this listing of healthy fat-burning foods. The listing of those types of fat burning foods is too numerous to list, however, they are quite familiar to many people. There are even some vegetables like celery and broccoli that are actually negative calorie foods but are still quite healthy for you and actually fill your stomach up.

Finally, the fat-burning foods that are good sources of protein are numerous and will help you maintain a diverse menu day after day to keep you on the path to healthy living. These include: poultry products without the skin, extra-lean cuts of beef, lamb, pork, and (if you can afford it) veal, eggs, many different kinds of seafood including shrimp, lobster, trout, and clams, 2% milk or skim milk and various other foods that are equally delicious and can make for a hearty and appetizing meal each day.

Keeping in mind these tips about fat burning foods you will have no problem in maintaining a healthy lifestyle devoid of boredom. Also, as with any diet or exercise regimen, give yourself a pat on the back once in a while and also allow yourself to cheat a little bit on your foods. Unhealthy foods once in a while will serve as a reward for you but also serves as a reminder that you are working towards healthier living but are certainly not going to rob your existence of all the happy (unhealthy) foods. As usual, consult a physician before beginning any diet or exercise regimen.
