Flower essence therapy does not merely apply the medicinal contents of plants and flowers to help in dealing with emotional problems and stresses. This form of holistic healing is also focused on the use of nature’s healing energy captured in the essences of flowers. It is true that only a few would believe in its effectiveness, but many of those who have tried it can attest to its positive effects.

Understanding the concept of gathering nature’s healing energy through flowers lies in knowing how they are prepared. This starts in choosing the flowers and the specific healing they can give. An Arnica flower, for example, is to target a shocked emotion and body, Black Cohosh rejuvenates an aging physique and Blackcap Raspberry is for self-discovery. Many practitioners would choose to pick flowers during the early mornings of spring when the dew has not evaporated yet.

The flowers are then put in a bowl of spring water and are left under the sun. It usually takes two to four hours to process the energy absorption. The liquid will then be filtered and mixed with brandy. This mixture is called mother tincture, or mother essence, that needs to be poured in a dark bottle and stored away from heat and light. Essences can be combined, depending on the need, and are placed under the tongue during therapy or treatment. Since there are people who form allergic reactions after taking in alcohol, glycerine or vinegar can be used as replacement for brandy.

When you visit one of the wellness centers specializing in flower essence therapy it will be best to find a therapist who is also an expert in medical intuition. Combining these two will be able to give holistic healing that focuses on the overall well-being of a person to achieve a more peaceful feeling existence.
