Awaken Your Happy Hormones by Getting a Message for Relaxation

Massage has become a popular refuge for people who need to de-stress and feel relaxed. A vacation would be more appealing and fun, but it requires a lot of time and planning. More than that, it requires a bigger budget. Getting a message for relaxation is the easiest, fastest and a more practical approach to feel rejuvenated.

It is amazing to think about the relaxing effects of massage to a person. Do you ever wonder what sort of magic is included in those hand strokes that can make an individual feel at ease and regain some lost energy?

The actual scientific explanation is yet to be found but there is a promising theory from some massage experts. They said that during a massage session the body may tend to increase its stored seratonin, a hormone that aids in regulating moods, anxiety and in controlling depression. It is sometimes called a “happy hormone”. Our body does not produce this naturally as it is a by-product of an amino acid that we get from food. A massage session is believed to permit an easier process for the body to convert this amino acid and produce seratonin. With this comes a more relaxed feeling and emotions reaching its balanced state.

Again, this is a theory that is yet to be confirmed. Maybe this relaxed state is achieved simply because the mind has been pre-conditioned to get the experience. Whether or not this is proven to be true, however, the relaxing effect of massage cannot be denied. It does not need to be proven at all for people to continue getting a massage for relaxation.
